Hello! I hope you're all well and enjoying the first signs of Spring! (We know the UK weather can be a little temperamental this time of year, but we'd like to think full time Spring is just around the corner!) and with the clocks going forward this Sunday, it marks a shift into what we hope are brighter days ahead, both physically and mentally (Autumn is my forever fave time of year, but there is a special place in my heart for Spring. Daffodils, pastels, lighter nights...) and obviously for those of you among us who are Religious, this time of year is about way more than the Easter Bunny! We never really got on board with the whole New...
"Deep sleeps the Winter, Cold, wet and grey; Surely all the world is dead; Spring is far away. Wait! the world shall waken; It is not dead, for lo, The Fair Maids of February Stand in the snow!" ‘The Snowdrop Fairy’ - Cicely Mary Barker. They're here! The first signs of Spring. Traditionally a symbol of less positive omens (the Victorians didn't like them in the house, their worst-case scenario was death!) we've spotted our first snowdrops on our walks! Now often seen as a symbol of hope due to the fact that it is often the first to flower at the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring, we can't help but appreciate a sign that there are...
“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.” - Lewis Carroll. Jack Frost has been doing the rounds this week! The blankets of intermittent snow and ice have made it a little easier to stay home this past couple of weeks, but the beauty of it shows that every season has its time to shine. Happy New Year! (I know it's too late to say it, but it's also the first time this year that we've spoken!) I hope you all had a lovely Christmas New Year,...
Hello! We hope you're managing to take some time for yourself this festive season. As we know, December flies by so quickly, and it's easy to become burned out without realising! Since the launch of our Christmas Shop, we've been discussing Christmas shopping this year in general. As a shop, you'd think we'd be trying to sell all the items we can, but in all honesty, it's not all that we're about! Sure our purpose is to gift good quality items from our home to yours, but this year things may look a little different - and we think that this might be a slight silver lining to all this madness. The irony of Black Friday after Thanksgiving is not...
It's almost that time of year - We've barely put away our Halloween decorations (some of us begrudgingly!) and yet the first signs of Christmas are already here! (We're totally not helping here either... ha!) I heard my first Christmas song in the supermarket today... and every item of confectionery now seems to come in a novelty Christmas shape (why DO they taste better?!) However, whether you love it or loathe it, December will soon be here.
